GTP Series

STRUCTURE

Each module consists of a single cooling body and one or more fan sections. The module can be completed with the air inlet section and the cold water collection basin.
The reticular structure is made up of pultruded FRP beams of high thickness, while the cladding is made up of sandwich type panels in reinforced polyester resin.
The structure does not contain any steel part.

FAN SECTION

The ventilation is induced draft type: the fan is installed in the upper part of the cooling tower.
The electric motors are equipped with all the special features to avoid water entrance and condensation. Motors are bolted on a steel support, welded inside the fan stack. The fan is coupled directly to the motor shaft.
The fan is equipped with high performance blades. The fan stack is protected by a metal safety grid.

DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM

The cooling tower is equipped with its own inlet flange. Spray nozzles are secured on the water distribution system by means of an adapter with threaded connection. Spray nozzles can be selected according to the project water flow rate, thus guaranteeing the best performances. Spray nozzles are anti-clogging type.

FILLING SYSTEM

The filling system is made up of several packs to form a section characterized by a high surface/volume ratio in order to improve the heat exchange capacity of the machine.
Depending on the working conditions, the packs can be supplied in different configurations with different geometries.

FILM filling
ILMED IMPIANTI has designed and developed new “FILMED” filling packs, with an exclusive and very effective design, which work on the “film” principle. They are manufactured in PVC or PP, with diagonal or vertical channels.

HYBRID filling
The TR.U.S.T. (Tridimensional Ultimate Splash Type) filling system consists of modular elements, manufactured in high-thickness polypropylene, which work on the “SPLASH” principle. Ilmed Impianti has designed this special filling system for polluted water with high levels of suspended solids. The modular feature facilitates the handling and cleaning during maintenance. The TR.U.S.T. System is the natural evolution of the traditional grid system, thus defining new levels of strength, ease of installation, performance and durability.

DRIFT ELIMINATORS

The drift eliminators are made up of modular elements, in PVC or PP sheets.
The efficiency of the separator is excellent, such as to limit water losses due to dragging to a value below 0.005% of the circulating flow.

LOUVERS AND WATER BASIN

Made in polypropylene with a honeycomb structure, louvers are designed for induced draft counter flow cooling towers. They mainly perform two functions:
- to channel the incoming air flow,
- to eliminate the water splash-out from the tower.

The basin, made entirely of FRP, collects the process water. Thanks to its outlet flanges, it can be connected directly to the utilities; the basin bottom is smooth and inclined in order to allow the complete water drainage during emptying and to prevent the formation of biological agents, such as legionella.

Depending on the customer's needs, louvers and basins can be excluded from the supply.
